SIEE-Pollutec 2023

The 18th edition of the International Exhibition for Water Equipment, Technology, and Services opened on Tuesday in Algiers, featuring the participation of over 140 national and foreign companies from 14 countries. Running until May 18 at the Pins Maritimes Exhibition Centre in Algiers, the event brings together key Algerian and international players in the water sector. Sogarewite—a subsidiary of the Gerid Group—participated alongside its partners from irrigation sector enterprises. Located in "Zone C," the company showcased its services and expertise in a professional setting designed to attract new partners and create future opportunities.

Partnership Agreement

Within the framework of the company’s strategic plan, SOGERHWT has entered into a new agreement with the Pan-African institute PAUWES. The primary objectives of this agreement focus on capacity building, the supervision of master’s theses, internships, and applied research.

Pan Africain

Interns from the Pan-African Institute for Water, Energy and Climate Change at the company Sugarwit As part of the implementation of the agreement on "cooperation in the fields of training, research, and technological development"—concluded on November 14, 2021, between Mr. Karim Hasni, Minister of Water Resources and Water Security, and Mr. Abdelbaki Benziane, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research—a group of students from the Pan-African Institute for Water, Energy and Climate Change (affiliated with the Abou Bekr Belkaïd University of Tlemcen) was recognized and honored today, August 25, 2022. These students, who hail from various nations—including Sudan, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Eswatini—have completed a practical training program at the project sites of the company "Sugarwit," specifically at the wastewater treatment plant and the drinking water treatment plant.

Algiers International Fair (SAFEX)

SOGERHWIT Participates in the 53rd Algiers International Fair (SAFEX) SOGERHWIT took part in the 53rd edition of the Algiers International Fair (FIA), held from June 13 to 17, 2022, at the Exhibition Center (SAFEX) in Les Pins Maritimes, Algiers, under the theme "For a Strategic Partnership." As a major economic event and a key annual meeting point, this fair serves as an essential showcase for the national economy and for the international business community interested in the Algerian market. The United States was the guest of honor at the fair, which hosted nearly 540 exhibitors from around 20 countries, representing at least 10 different sectors. We were present with a booth in the central pavilion, "Zone B," where we showcased our services and expertise. This professional setting was designed to attract new partners, with the goal of creating fresh opportunities in the near future.

SIEE POLLUTEC 2022

A key gathering for water sector professionals in Algeria. SIEE Pollutec, the largest annual water-focused event in Africa, took place from June 20 to 23, 2022, at the CIC Algiers Conference Center. For its 17th edition, the International Exhibition for Water Equipment, Technologies, and Services (SIEE Pollutec) welcomed 6,500 professional visitors—including decision-makers and specifiers—at the International Conference Center (CIC Algiers). The event featured around 100 national and international exhibitors, who showcased their extensive expertise in the field. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Water Resources and Water Security, Karim Hasni, accompanied by the Minister of Fisheries and Fishery Products, Hichem Sofiane Salaouatchi; the Minister of Environment, Samia Moualfi; the Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zeghdar; and the Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energies, Ziane Benattou. The ministers toured the exhibition pavilions, engaging with various exhibitors on topics such as seawater desalination, wastewater treatment and reuse, the integration of smart, eco-friendly equipment for the rational use of water resources, and innovative solutions for addressing diverse environmental challenges, including water pollution. Mr. Hasni, accompanied by other government officials, visited the GERHYD Group’s stand, where he was welcomed by the group’s CEO and the CEOs of its various subsidiaries. During the event, Sogerhwit showcased its professional credentials at its stand, forged new partnerships, and contributed to establishing Pollutec as a premier showcase for professionals seeking environmental solutions.

Celebration of World Water Day

World Water Day: "Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible" This morning, Mr. Mohamed Saïd Benkamou, Wali of Béchar Province—accompanied by the President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, members of the Security Committee, the local representative of the Ombudsman of the Republic, the Mayor of Béchar, the Director of Water Resources and Water Security, the Director of the Algerian Water Company (ADE), and Mr. Boussir, Director of the SOGERHWIT project—attended the official World Water Day celebrations. Held this year under the theme "Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible" at the Kadi Mohammed House of Culture (Dar Al-Takafa), the event included the participation of university professors and students.
